Breaking the Silence: The 2026 Epidemic of Coercive Control and Intimate Partner Violence in Ontario

This presentation will explore the devastating psychological impact of narcissistic abuse, including trauma bonding, anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, loss of identity, emotional dysregulation, and the long-term effects on self-worth and mental health. Through education, clinical insight, and advocacy, this discussion aims to raise awareness about the hidden forms of abuse that often go unrecognized, while empowering survivors, professionals, and communities to better understand, support, and respond to those impacted by relational trauma and coercive abuse.

Raising awareness, understanding the signs, and empowering change.

Join us on July 13, 2026 at 12 PM EDT for another transformative "Let's Get Intentional" session with Raquel Soteldo, a trauma-informed Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical Director, and Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician with a deeply empathic yet direct approach to therapy. She specializes in working with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, codependency, complex PTSD, and narcissistic abuse recovery.

Raquel draws from a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, trauma-focused, attachment-psychodynamic, mindfulness, emotion-focused, and relational therapies. In both individual and couples work, she supports clients in healing unresolved relational patterns, developing secure attachment, building self-trust, and establishing clear, protective boundaries.

With over 20 years of research and personal experience navigating narcissistic and relational trauma, Raquel brings both clinical expertise and deep personal understanding to her work. She has been trained by leading trauma and abuse recovery experts such as Dr. Ramani Durvasula, Bessel van der Kolk, Sandra Brown, and others. She has also led workshops on narcissistic abuse, worked with Ottawa Victim Services, and supported survivors of domestic violence through the ICE Counselling Program.

Raquel holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University), with additional training in Psychology, Criminology, Applied Behavioural Analysis, and Project Management. She is also a certified NLP Coach and Hypnotherapist.

Raquel believes that true healing begins with being seen and understood—and that recovery from abuse is not only possible, but transformative. She is committed to helping her clients reclaim their voice, strengthen their self-worth, and build lives rooted in clarity, safety, and meaningful connection.
